FINGER LAKES LIBATIONS CELEBRATES FIVE YEARS OF PUBLICATION IN 2026!

THE 2026 FALL ISSUE IS IN!

CLICK HERE(opens in new tab) to read or go to Latest Issue Page.

To celebrate our fifth anniversary, we explore pioneers of the region who grew grapes, established wine trails, first reported on wine news, brewed craft beer, and provided spirits and cider. We will highlight original wine- and cider-making families alongside some of the newest generations, plus more.

Due to rising operating costs, advertising rates for 2026 will increase for new advertisers. However, all current advertising partners will be grandfathered in at 2025 rates for the 2026 season. Please be sure to include us in your 2026 budget planning.

We will also be introducing more convenient payment options and exciting new package opportunities through our partner organization. Speaking of which, we have an announcement to make...

FINGER LAKES LIBATIONS HAS SOME BIG NEWS!

We’re thrilled to announce a major new partnership with Finger Lakes Community Newspapers (publishers of the Ithaca Times, Trumansburg Free Press, Ovid Gazette, Interlaken Review, Tompkins Independent, and News Chronicle).

In 2026, we will collaborate with the above organizations to launch the Finger Lakes Field to Kitchen Journal – a gorgeous new companion food magazine celebrating the farmers, producers, chefs, and makers who turn our region’s bounty from field to kitchen (and glass!).

Paired with our award-winning FLX Libations beverage coverage, this will be the Finger Lakes’ essential resource for all things delicious – now reaching even more readers. Together, there will be four annual issues of the beverage and food related publications: two of FLX Libations and two of FLX Field to Kitchen Journal published on an alternating schedule. (FLX Libations publication dates remains similar to past years – May and September for 2026)

WELCOME TO FINGER LAKES LIBATIONS!

Finger Lakes Libations is a semi-annual print publication featuring the shining beacon of the Finger Lakes region that radiates worldwide. Our beverage industries draw fans from far and wide, from internationally acclaimed award-winning wines, to craft breweries, distilleries and cideries that pull visitors back again and again!

Join us for an inside view of "everything libations" that the Finger Lakes has to offer: small start-up wineries, generations owned vineyard estates touting world renowned wines, some of the finest micro-breweries and cider houses to rival any in the industry. New York agriculture takes a bow as well - grapes, apples, hops, etc.

Whether you are a wine connoisseur or someone with a love for the taste of fine ale, you'll fall in love with all of the Finger Lakes Libations through these pages.

From the Editor

From what I hear...
It’s been a great summer – for weather, for tasting room traffic, for fruit!
I hope everyone has savored it as we ease into the other side of the warm seasons.

The Finger Lakes Libations continues to celebrate our fifth anniversary. We also continue to spotlight the legacy wineries that appeared on early winery maps of the region, participating in the earliest versions of marketing the industry and still owned by its founders. The process will continue, of course, since there is much to cover. In this issue, we celebrate Wagner Vineyards, Bully Hill Winery, and Lucas Vineyards.

We also pay tribute to a pioneer regional wine newspaper that grew up right along with the industry as it exploded by exploring the woman who brought regular news coverage to the Finger Lakes: Nancy Parker and her FLX Wine Gazette.

Two of the newest wineries have completed their inaugural seasons and we checked in on them: Cane and Vine on Seneca and Constantia on Cayuga. As usual, wine editor Phil brings you all the news around the lakes with the Wine Press. We have also introduced a Grapevine page to capture last minute announcements of interest in time for press. (Many thanks to readers who submitted photos, such as Wayne Schutz’ pics of Pleasant Valley Wine Co.)

The Wine Classic results are in and what a doozy! Dominated by Finger Lakes Wines, it is so impressive that we just had to provide some results for our readers. Kudos to Weis Vineyards for Winery of the Year award for the fourth time (three of which are consecutive)! And although this is a wine centric issue, be sure to check out Christian’s profile of the brand new Off Leash Brewing.

Lastly, I’d like to thank our readers, advertisers, and winery and brewery staff for all the support that allowed these pages to exist for the past five years. Here’s to the next five!

Ever Yours, Denice
